Filed under: Tip of the Week
Book update: The book is gong to the printer (in England) Monday, and should be printed by the end of the week. This makes availability in England next week, and in the US about 3 weeks later allowing for shipping. Some copies may get to large distributors sooner. I will offer some here (autographed) once I get my supply, but you may be better off getting one elsewhere and bringing it tome when you get to Vegas (or wherever I am going to be).
The charity tournament for the JCC was fun, but not lucky. I went out when I called an all0in bet from the small blind with A-K, but could not withstand the onslaught of the dreaded 9-2. Such is poker. Good cause, though.
I am working on a column about MUB (monsters under the bed). This is an easy concept to identify, but tough for me to get a handle to write about. I shall get it done, though.
I had dinner recently with Terry Borer and Lawrence Mak, the authors of the second book I have coming out (the blue cover above right). This short-handed book should come out within a month of my book, and I really expect to the become a must-have for the short-handed limit player. It really is good. For the last three months, I have been playing SH limit on-line from time to time using the principles in the book with good success. The online games are tough (I play PokerStars), but I am still doing well. (I play $10-$20 for those of you who are curious. I do not like to keep much money online since the UIGA was passed, though it should not matter. NETeller caved even though they are based in Europe, so who knows what is next.
I have played a fair amount but no hands come to mind right now. If I remember one of interest, I’ll go back and edit it in.
Probably no added Thought next week as I will be in Florida with several limited Internet (occasional stints at Panera Bread is the best I can do).
